We Preach the Bible
Youth of all ages are so important here at Calvary Baptist Church. Our youth pastor Landon Teall and his wife Aubrey specifically work with the youth that are in the 7th -12 th grades.
Youth group takes place every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm till 8:00pm for the Jr high teens and Sunday evening 5:30pm till 7:00 pm for the Sr high teens. We meet in the former parsonage next to the church. A normal night of youth group involves snacks, games, singing, Bible study and prayer.
Youth group is a great time for youth to interact with other Christians their own age and to have good and God-honoring fellowship and fun. God, the Bible and serving Him are at the heart of all that we do, whether it is an activity or time at youth group.
Youth group runs year round and with it there are many youth activities and events planned each month. We do various ministry events including: singing in a nursing home, raking leaves for the elderly in the Fall, handing out free cookies with Gospel tracts and conducting free car washes. Ministry is very important, and we try to give the youth as many chances to serve their Lord as possible.
We also conduct many outdoor events throughout the year including skiing and tubing in the winter, and hiking, biking, canoeing and camping in the Spring, Summer and Fall. We love the outdoors and it is always a treat for us to be out in God's wonderful creation.
Also, every month we have what is called a Youth Afterglow. Afterglows take place after the evening worship service on Sundays. Every third Sunday evening of the month we go to a different church member's home to enjoy a meal and play games, while we enjoy being together.
We are very excited about what the Lord is doing concerning our new building project. Once completed, we will have a brand new all-purpose building, which contains a gymnasium with basketball hoops and room to run and play games.
We would love to have you come to youth group or any of the upcoming youth events. We would encourage you to come at least a couple of times, so that you can get a good feel for all that is going on here at Calvary.
